OBC Jati Form Hindi PDF

OBCs, officially known as Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC), constitute a significant segment of India’s population. The Government of India has a constitutional mandate to ensure the social and educational development of OBCs, particularly in the realms of public sector employment and higher education. The provision of 27% reservation for OBCs in these areas underscores the government’s commitment to promoting their inclusion and advancement in society.

The classification of castes and communities within the OBC category is a dynamic process that hinges on various factors such as social status, educational attainment, and economic conditions. The list of OBCs, meticulously maintained by the Indian Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, undergoes periodic revisions to reflect the evolving socio-economic landscape and address the needs of marginalized communities effectively.

The effective implementation of programs aimed at the social and economic empowerment of OBCs is pivotal to bridging existing disparities and fostering inclusive growth. Two key institutions, namely the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation and the National Commission for Backward Classes, play a crucial role in formulating and executing initiatives that cater to the welfare of OBCs. These institutions are instrumental in channeling resources, providing financial assistance, and advocating for the rights and interests of OBC communities across the country.

In December 2018, a significant milestone was achieved with the establishment of the OBC Sub-Division within the National Commission for Backward Classes. This subdivision was created to focus specifically on issues pertaining to the sub-categorization of OBCs, aiming to ensure equitable distribution of benefits and opportunities among different sub-castes within the OBC category. The Commission’s report on the sub-categorization of castes shed light on disparities within the OBC community, revealing that only 25% of sub-castes classified in the OBC category are reaping the lion’s share of benefits from OBC reservations, while a substantial 37% of OBC castes remain marginalized with zero representation in terms of reservation benefits.
