Following closely behind are Garima Lohia, Uma Harathi N, and Smriti Mishra, who have demonstrated outstanding performance in this highly competitive exam. It’s worth noting that in the previous year’s UPSC CSE 2021 exam, Shruti Sharma had secured the prestigious All India Rank 1, setting a remarkable precedent.

The UPSC Civil Services Examination is a rigorous process conducted annually in three stages – Prelims, Mains, and the Interview (personality test). These stages aim to select deserving candidates for esteemed positions in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and various other central services group A and B posts. This year, a total of 933 candidates have been recommended for appointment to these prestigious services after successfully navigating through the comprehensive selection process.

Among the recommended candidates, there is a diverse representation across different categories. A significant portion of the recommended candidates, 345 to be precise, belong to the general category, showcasing a broad spectrum of talent. Additionally, 99 candidates from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), 263 from the Other Backward Classes (OBC), 154 from the Scheduled Castes (SC), and 72 from the Scheduled Tribes (ST) have been recommended for these esteemed positions. This diversity highlights the inclusive nature of the selection process and the opportunities it provides for individuals from various backgrounds to serve the nation.

The success of these candidates not only reflects their hard work and dedication but also underscores the significance of gender diversity and inclusivity in the civil services. The achievements of Ishita Kishore, Garima Lohia, Uma Harathi N, and Smriti Mishra, along with the other successful candidates, serve as inspirations for aspiring civil servants across the country. The UPSC Civil Services Examination continues to be a beacon of excellence and a gateway to serving the nation with integrity and commitment.
